I was in the area, stood outside, looked around, there was McDonald's, and this pizza place, not a ton of options when I was hangry and in the middle of nowhere, didn't want to go any further. This was recommended by local folks. It is part of a strip mall, so there is parking. When I walked in, it seemed like a ma and pa kind of shop, been here forever. I had two plain slices and a soda for just under $8. The pizza was a thick kind of pizza, with a good amount of cheese. The pizza dough was quite unique, it wasn't the pizza dough you would find in the city. The dough used was a little dense. Most importantly I liked it, thought it was good amount of cheese and tomato sauce.
This family operated Italian / Pizza / Sub restaurant is always worth it. The husband and wife team take their time taking your order and double check what they put on counter to make certain your getting what you asked for. We especially love their pizza, calzones and submarine sandwiches. There no skimping on the ingredients with this restaurant.
I've always loved this place. I've been going here since I was a young girl. It is one of the few places that is original! Tony remembered me all these years later. I still go here every time I'm home. Best pizza, hands down!
So, we have ordered from Dom's, Sub King and End Zone since we moved to Stillwater so it was time to try the Mechanicville House of Pizza. They are priced average but their 8 cut pizza was small compared to most. The taste was average. Not bad, but not spectacular either. I was able to customize my order to my dietary needs and it worked out fine. I was happy with it. Customer service was friendly. Store is neat and clean. No complaints on any of that. All good. Next time we will try other menu items to see how they are. I'm sure we will order from here again.
This has been my "go to" spot for Pizza, Wings, & Calzones for years. Between this place, Inferno, & Doms, I like all 3. Inferno has the best prices, Doms is really good, but the food from Mechanicville House of Pizza takes the win overall based on which one I think of first if I'm starving and ready to order.
